Have you heard of March Madness? The college men’s basketball tournament which determines the national champion of Division 1 NCAA basketball. This single-elimination tournament typically runs during the month of March. It can be exciting for those who have “their team” and even those who may only follow basketball during March Madness.

Well, here at Platter’s Chocolate Factory we are super excited to announce our take on March Madness. So, for the first time ever, I’d like to introduce you to (drum roll please) the Sweet Tooth Smackdown!

At Platter’s Chocolate Factory we offer so many amazing candies, just over 3000 items with many flavor variations of each product. So often we are asked “What is your favorite?” or “Do you ever get sick of chocolate working in a candy store?” Well, I can honestly say my favorite changes with each season. And NO, I never get sick of chocolate. There are so many things to choose from and it never gets old.

But this isn’t about what I like, it’s about what YOU like! This is why we are excited to introduce the Sweet Tooth Smackdown. Here’s how it works:

• We have selected 16 of our fan favorites and developed a bracket for you to choose what candy you think will be voted the favorite. You can print your bracket here.

• All brackets must be filled out and received in-store at Platter’s Chocolate Factory or emailed to cs@platterschocolate.com no later than February 29^th, 2024, 11:59pm.

• There will be a poll on our social media channels to vote for your favorite candy. There will be one “game” or “candy vs. candy” per day. You can find our polls on Facebook or Instagram here:

• The rounds for the brackets will be as follows:
  • Round 1: March 1^st - March 8^th
  • Round 2: March 11^th - March 14^th
  • Round 3: March 18^th - March 19^th
  • Championship Round: March 21^st
    

A winner will be determined by those having the most accurate bracket.

If there are multiple winners, they will all go into a pool, and one will be randomly drawn to be crowned winner of the Sweet Tooth Smackdown 2024.

The single winner will be announced and contacted on March 25th. And if bragging rights weren’t enough, the winner will receive a basket with a sampling of each candy competing for the Sweet Tooth Smackdown! This includes:

• Shortbread Cookies
• Bunny Crate Eggs
• Sponge Candy
• Orange Hot Fudge
• Jelly Beans
• Chocolate Covered Pretzels
• Sea Salt Almond Caramels
• Caramellow Half Egg
• Peanut Brittle
• Buffalo Wing & Blue Cheese Popcorn
• Sprinkled Almond Crunch
